A while ago, you may recall, a massive ho-ha erupted between Katie Price and Channel 4 after Frankie Boyle made an offensive joke about the glamour model?s son Harvey in his TV show Tramadol Nights.
In the programme Boyle said:
?I have a theory that Katie Price married a cage fighter because she needed someone strong enough to stop Harvey from f****** her.?
The comment spurned Katie to lodge an official complaint with Ofcom (500 other people also phoned into the broadcasting regulator about the jibe) who earlier this week published their ruling about the fiasco.
They found that C4 had breached the broadcasting guidelines as a result of Boyle's jokes, and now Katie has written a letter to Culture Minister Jeremy Hunt to ask him to sack C4 chief David Abraham. In her letter Katie ? who we spotted doing her weekly shop earlier - says (or should we say, someone writing on her behalf says):
?How can Channel 4 be our Paralympic broadcaster when it discriminates against the disabled? Is Mr Abraham?s position not completely untenable??
The letter goes on to point out that had the joke ?concerned the colour of Harvey?s skin or his racial background? then Channel 4 would not have failed to act, and she adds: ?are the disabled less deserving of society?s protection??
In an open letter to Jordan this weekend, David Abraham defended Boyle?s joke saying:
?I appreciate the very personal perspective to your letter and I would like to reassure you that we never set out to offend or cause distress to your son."
"As we made clear in our submission to Ofcom, our detailed internal commissioning process meant that we were satisfied that you and not your son, were the object of the satire."
