After being on jobseeker's allowance I should be elated to get the job I wanted ? but I'm worried I've 'faked it' in my interviews
Each Friday and Monday we publish the problems that will feature in a forthcoming Dear Jeremy advice column in the Guardian Money supplement so that readers can offer their own advice and suggestions. We then print the best of your comments alongside Jeremy's own insights. Here is the latest dilemma ? what are your thoughts?
I graduated in July 2012 with a first in mathematics from a fairly average university. After graduation I struggled with the job application process and was on jobseeker's allowance for four months until November, when I found a temporary Christmas job. While working I continued applying for other roles and managed to bag a job in the insurance industry, which is where I want to be.
Most graduates would be over the moon, but I'm now waiting for my reference check to be completed and am extremely nervous about beginning a full-time career. I'm afraid I may have simply "faked it" in my interviews, and now I'm scared I will get fired before I've even started.
